Membership is open to:

  • Professionals: Architects, archaeologists, historians, conservationists, or practitioners actively engaged in cultural heritage work.
  • Institutions: NGOs, universities, government bodies, or private organizations involved in heritage conservation.
  • Students: Enrolled in heritage-related disciplines (e.g., architecture, archaeology, cultural studies).

To become a member of ICOMOS Nepal, you must align with its mission of cultural heritage conservation and meet specific eligibility criteria. Membership is typically open to professionals, institutions, and students engaged in heritage-related fields.

Follow these steps:

  • Visit the ICOMOS Nepal website or contact their office for the application form.
  • Submit the completed form with supporting documents (CV, proof of qualifications, recommendation letters, etc.).
  • Await review by the Executive Committee.
  • Pay membership fees upon approval.

Checklist for submission:

  • Filled membership form 
  • A full professional Curriculum Vitae 
  • Statement of Interest
  • Copy of citizenship certificate or passport (first two and last two pages of passport)
  • Copy of highest academic degree as related to heritage or allied education/training/experience.
  • Passport photo
  • A recommendation letter from an ICOMOS member or

Evaluation and Acceptance procedure:

  • Review of the application by the Executive Committee.
  • Information of the decision by the Executive Committee via email. 
  • On acceptance, payment of registration and membership fees.

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) highlighting heritage-related experience.
  • Copies of academic/professional certifications.
  • A recommendation letter from an existing ICOMOS member or relevant institution (if applicable).

  • Access to a global network of heritage experts and institutions.
  • Invitations to workshops, conferences, and training programs.
  • Eligibility to participate in committees and voting.
  • Subscription to newsletters, publications, and research resources.
